The Summarization

Who is Zachariah White?

I am an ambitious, confident, young, black man that is on a dire mission to prove something.

I’m not on a mission to prove anything to anyone else, but myself. Let it be clear, I do not doubt myself in the slightest bit. I am aware of the occurrences of my past and the present, yet I motivate myself to prove to myself that I am great and that I can reach the level beyond such (legendary status).

In providing motivation for myself, I set high and hefty goals and objectives for myself. Goals that will provide me with the very things that I need, value, and desire: consumption, housing, transportation, entertainment, money, professional success, and influential success.

These objectives are what I call “The Large Visions” which are comprised of “The White Empire”, “The White Presidency”, “The White Dynasty”, “The White Monarchy”, “The White Dictatorship”, “The White Kingdom”, and “The White Province”. (Just as a disclaimer, “White” is my last name)

The average person looking at a visual, such as this one, may not find the value in it. They may look at it as just a piece from a video game.

However, this is no ordinary picture to me. In fact, it represents how I would imagine everything would be once I completely fulfilled everything that I sent out to do.

The video game character, Alexios, looking down on all the beautiful buildings and construction below. If I hadn’t known anything about the game, I would have assumed that it was all his. I would have looked at it as an inspirational piece, as I look at it now.

It would be difficult in acquiring and maintaining it all; but, yet, it can be done. Knowing that it can be done would push to keep striving for the goals and keep envisioning new pieces to incorporate.

But, yet, I know that it is not his. He does not own or control of which he sees below him. This realization is what reminds me that this path that I set off for is no walk in the park. It is this realization that attempts to stomp out my flames just as many others have. Little did they all know, they only threw gasoline on it.

“The Emperor’s Necklace”

“The Emperor’s Necklace” - a nice, cool nickname called for this invention of mine.

Those on the outside may look at this as my attempt to throw any and every necklace on keychains to make it look call, but it’s much deeper than that.

It is a reflection of who I am and who I was. Before I developed to who I am today, I was just a person; a person who wanted to play with toys and video games. This is at least what my friends, peers, and adults nearby thought.

I certainly didn’t help matters. I received decent grades and I wasn’t very good at playing sports. This was important because, as the only two responsibilities that I had outside of chores, it sent out a signal that I wasn’t worth a lot and I wouldn’t amount to much.

It wasn’t until middle and high school that I was able to turn it all around.

  1.  The Lanyards
The Lanyards symbolize the number and types of clubs and organizations that I’ve been involved in from the time that I’ve conceived this vision (back when I was in middle school) to the present day. To be even more specific, some of them represent the moments (both good and taxing) that came with being the Captain of the DHS Mock Trial Team for two consecutive years. In doing so, I lead my team to the local competitions by aiding in the construction of quality questions to ask for the attorneys and assisting the witnesses as they reviewed their statements.

  1.  The Medals
The Medals are a representation of academic excellence. At the moment, there are three medals: 2 from Dunbar High School (Graduation; Summa Cum Laude) and 1 from the Lee County Black History Society. The last medal, specifically, represents the act of being first. This came about because I was one of six Seniors in the IB Program at the school and I managed to obtain a grade point average of 3.91 (Unweighted) and 5.35 (Weighted). The Principal of Dunbar High nominated me for the award; and, when I received it, I became apart of the first class of Lee County students to receive the award and I was the first Dunbar High or High School student to receive it.

  1.  The Keys
The Keys are a representation of the necessary possessions and correlate with one of the components of “The White Empire”. Before I came to FSU, I had house keys to houses (my mom and grandma’s) and cars (mine and my mom’s). Then, once I came to Tallahassee, I now have one (the key to a dorm in DeGraff). The shift from the multiple keys to one key symbolizes the transition from high school to college. Back when I was last in high school, I had admiration, status, power, and privileges (that I earned). At this point, that is erased to some extent because of the new setting and new people. The keys serve as a reminder of what I have, what I had, and what I seek to gain.

The Cross is an area of importance because, although I’m not the most religious person, I do have faith and belief in God. I am aware and understand that everything that I or anyone else accomplishes is attribute to Him; regardless of how focused I am in my pursuit of my “endgame” goal. In fact, this is what’s meant by “It takes more than one”. While I make efforts and seek to accomplish a great deal by myself or as the primary person out front, it acknowledges that I may not be able to do it alone. Therefore, God will send assistance in some manner or fashion, whether it be via a person, event, opportunity, or etc.

Time after time I hear people make their comments, both good and bad, about the necklace. They praise about how many medals there are, yet complain about how many pieces there are.

They talk about it in the same manner that they talked about me. Altogether, it’s all futile, the flames have already spreaded.
